April marked the end of our Patagonian fishing season. It was, by any standard, an excellent time for our fishing guests. Each year is different. This season the hoppers didn’t show up until February and the green caterpillars that love our lupine just didn’t arrive. But up at the boca to the Carrileufu there was an incredible hatch that kept the hungry trout and salmon around for another two months! We fished it almost every day. Our go-to reliables – Rio Riva Davia and Rio Chubut both fished well all season long with lots of cold water at all levels. This year we included either Robert or Nico, our chefs, to ensure that the three day Chubut float so that their culinary skills would be enjoyed by all.

As I write this report I realize that opening day (November 1 here in the southern hemisphere) is but a short time away. While we’re not yet ready with the preseason chores, I would like to remind you that early reservation inquiry will help ensure that you will get your first choice.
